For some reason I was wondering how many people have ever lived, and by extension, how many have died since the beginning of mankind. After a short search the web came up with some reasonable numbers.
I made my search results into two live counters. One for displaying the total mortality count and one for total birth count.

For testing purposes concerning Google AdSense and Google Analytics I hosted them on two separate domains, see:
www.birthcounter.com
www.mortalitycounter.com

I have made a new Wordpress plugin with which you can simplify your pretty permalinks. Use it to link to categories using /[categoryname] instead of /category/[categoryname] and /[tagname] instead of /tag/[tagname] to link to tags.

This plugin was made for Rafael Rozendaal’s blog on newrafael.com. and is therefore made to suit his specific wishes. It is not a very general plugin, but you can use it as a starting point for your own permalink management.
