It has been quite a while in the making. Intermediate versions included code generated sounds, which was nice to try out. The sound stuff was mostly based on André Michelle’s pioneer work. Check his site for amazing work on sound in actionscript.
The code generated sound did not find its way into the published version.

For IJsfontein I coded 2 games featured in the ZappZone multi-user game community for children’s channel Zapp.
The games are linked to characters from the ZappZone world. I made the games for the characters Lizz (a pacman kind of game) and for Chica (a dress up/memory game).

I coded a new interactive animation for Rafael Rozendaal:

It uses the motor2 physics engine, which was most suitable for this project. I also tried out box2d and ape, but because of the complex shapes motor2 was best.

For Ranj, I worked on a pilot for the Splitsz project. Splitsz will be a game for kids for learning how to responsibly use the internet and other modern media.
For little over 2 months I had the technical lead on the project. I supervised the other programmers, created the overall architecture and the main code. There are some nice technical features in the project, like an isometric world, a multiuser component, an engine for controlling and editing the storyline and an elegant approach to avatar configuration and rendering.
In the new year, the project will be continued with Ranj’ own programmers.
