Martin Kool of Q42 used the grahpics I made for my Game&Watch Donkey Kong II flash simulation waaayyy back in 2000 in his html5-for-iPad showcase. Looks like it works very nicely!

This project by Italian artists Andy Simionato and Antonio Riello aims at serving only the good news. In contrast to other good news sites, the news is not manually selected but by machine. So I had an opportunity to use some nice AI features for machine learning and language processing.

I have made a new WordPress plugin with which you can simplify your pretty permalinks. Use it to link to categories using /[categoryname] instead of /category/[categoryname] and /[tagname] instead of /tag/[tagname] to link to tags.

This plugin was made for Rafael Rozendaal’s blog on newrafael.com. and is therefore made to suit his specific wishes. It is not a very general plugin, but you can use it as a starting point for your own permalink management.

With Olivier Otten I made the online part of the Avans Deeltijd campaign for marketing bureau L’eau.

It features a YouTube implementation in Flash, using Tubeloc and the YouTube Data API and a multitask Pong/Tetris game which is also used as a Hyves gadget.

Last Monday, I have started teaching a course in ActionScript 3 to teachers at the Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam. It is a short course aiming to bring teachers of different faculties up to date with ActionScript3 and OO programming.
It is my first teaching assignment and so far, I liked it very well.

I have designed the course around making a small game, a vertical scroller / dodgem kind of game. Every lesson I will explain different programming subjects and have the ‘students’ apply them in building the game.

I have updated my WordPress target attribute plugin because of some minor bugs.

Bugfixes:

• javascript links were not treated 100% correctly, which caused some valid urls to be treated as javascript links
• slight bug in regular expression, which caused some links to go undetected

Most current version now is v0.12.
