With Playability I developed a viral campaign for tour operator Sunweb in which visitors can build their ideal wintersports day by choosing activities for the hours of the day. Their day will then be matched against that of their friends and shown in an animation.
It can be played in a Facebook app page and in a Hyves app page.
The application uses the data api’s of both Facebook and Hyves for gathering user data, inviting friends and sharing.

With Playability I developed a game for the Disney game portal. The game is based on the Kick Buttowski series.

The game is an Angry Birds like game in which you have to launch the Kick Buttowski character and try to land him in the right place.
It is built on the box2d physics engine. The game contains a level builder, playback functionality and social sharing.

This project by Italian artists Andy Simionato and Antonio Riello aims at serving only the good news. In contrast to other good news sites, the news is not manually selected but by machine. So I had an opportunity to use some nice AI features for machine learning and language processing.

Today, I finished work on the first version of the management game ‘Enterprise’ for ROC West Brabant. In this multiplayer flashgame the players (secondary school children) can get an idea of what it is to be an entrepreneur in their line of business, while competing with eachother.
The work was commissioned to me by Ranj.
I created and implemented the underlying economic model, as well as the general software architecture and complete backend. It has been a very big project.
In the months to come the game will be tested and tweaked, so it can be used in schools begin next year.
I am sorry to say that the online game is not publicly accessible at the moment, but maybe will be later.

After a lot of intermediate versions, restyling and heated arguments the new Ranj website is finally online…
It is completely flash-based and I really got the chance to go all out. I am really happy with the result!

Some highlights:

• Navigating through the flash site shows up in your browser history so you can use the browser’s back and forward buttons.
• Auto alignment and resizing of items when resizing browser window.
• Intelligent image display, looks random but is still readable.
• Advanced image and data loading with a flash-based cache.
• Random access to all parts of the site using url’s, for instance: ‘www.ranj.nl/helloyou’ to access this particular project.
• Bilingual.
